About
DREMORA is a female-fronted symphonic metal band from America that mashes an ‘old school’ metal sound with classical orchestration, then polishes it with powerful, yet captivating, female soprano vocals.
ROOTS:The band was formed April 2006 in Los Angeles, CA by Thomas Kampert who previously held roles as both drummer and guitarist in the early 90’s Pittsburgh, PA heavy metal band ‘Contradiction’. In November 2006, Brazilian soprano Juliana Novo joins as the lead operatic metal voice of the band, and injects her own unique deep vocal tone into the music. In August 2007 they released the band’s first album, the 4 track EP entitled ‘Martyrs’. December 7th 2007 Juliana is dismissed from the band as the lead singer and a quest has begun to find a new local front woman.
GOALS: Dremora is dedicated to providing a fresh original perspective to the modern genre of female-fronted symphonic / gothic metal. We offer the powerful yet dreamy sound of European female-fronted symphonic metal, mixed with a raw heavy metal feel reminiscent of 80’s American thrash metal. This unique combination will be something new, yet familiar to fans of both genres. Our music will be offered around the world to entice fans of all kinds, and introduced to new markets like America that has yet to embrace this style. Dremora is here to show those souls in need of something new the wonder, beauty, and sheer power of true operatic symphonic metal.
